1 / What is a Functional Nutrition Coach?

Functional Nutrition Consultants work with individuals and groups in a person-centred process to facilitate and empower the patient or client to develop and achieve self determined goals related to nutrition, health and wellness.

Functional Nutrition focuses more on the individual and also delves into lifestyle factors that could affect food choices and and how food choices may be impacting lifestyle and health.  Functional Nutrition offers a more holistic approach to enhancing a person's well-being (mind, body and soul) while providing more individual care. Functional nutrition seeks to establish an empowering and educational client-coach relationship to better amplify their well-being, autonomy, and create sustainable transformations.

 

Functional Nutrition Consultants per se do not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or provide psychological therapeutic interventions. 

2 / What is a Health & Wellness Coach?

Health & Wellness Coaches work with individuals and groups in a person-centred process to facilitate and empower the patient or client to develop and achieve self determined goals related to health and wellness.

 

Health & Wellness Coaches support patients and clients in mobilizing internal strengths and external resources, and in developing self-management strategies for making sustainable, healthy lifestyle, behaviour changes.

Health & Wellness Coaches per se do not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or provide psychological therapeutic interventions.

 

They may provide expert guidance in areas in which they additionally hold active, nationally recognized credentials, and may offer resources from nationally recognized authorities regarding healthy lifestyle recommendations.

 

As partners and facilitators, Health & Wellness Coaches support patients or clients in achieving their health and wellness goals through science-based behaviour change models. Coaches assist clients to use their insight, personal strengths and resources, goal setting, action steps and accountability toward healthy lifestyle change.

 

These goals are based on the patient or clients’ own goals and are consistent with treatment plans as prescribed by their Primary Care Physician and or Allied Health Professional.

As someone who has had a major overhaul over the years, (and the refining is always happening) I can empathise and understand the journey of health and wellness implicitly.  The pitfalls and hurdles - I know them intimately. 

I am constantly reading and researching cutting-edge science-based data and have an amazing cohort to draw upon should the need arise.

I guide and educate clients to achieve the highest state of health and vitality, consistent with their own goals, personal strengths, behaviours, resources, and accountability towards healthy lifestyle change and to teach them how to make better choices.

Proper nutrition and lifestyle choices are in essence ‘adaptive’, along with being in the right headspace, helping to support the structure and function of the body and its innate intelligence.

4 / Costs

'We're doing this' comprehensive session ~ $120 AUD (40-60  mins) 

'Time for a Catch Up' quick tweak and check in session - $65 AUD (20 to 30 mins)

'Let's Talk' coaching session - $99 AUD (50-60mins)

5 / How does the first session go?

'We're doing this' sessions are comprehensive.  Pre-session it begins with a questionnaire so I can get a feel for where you are at in your journey (mind, body, spirit) to be able to assist you as best I can.  The questionnaire also allows me to follow up any research I may need to do prior to meeting with you. We then meet and you'll tell me about your beautiful, amazing journey.  This will give me (and you) the information we need to move forward. I will also (post-session) put some ideas together for you that you can implement, with goals you can work towards. We may have already discussed some simple goals by the end of our session. It's all about baby steps.

6 / How does a follow up session go?

After implementing our ideas, we touch base and chat about any tweaks needing to be made or addressed, any concerns or issues (new and existing) you may have.  Maybe you just want to talk. I'm here to listen.

This is also a time to refine our goals and if required, arrange testing or follow up with a practitioner. 

7 /  Where do you do your sessions?

Currently I am working with clients online, via zoom.
